More Affordable than you think

We know that there are many factors that go into your decision to choose a senior living solution for yourself or your family member. That’s why we are happy to provide any information that may help ease your decision-making process from a financial standpoint.

Veteran’s Aid and Attendance Benefit

Our Residents who are veterans are able to receive a benefit for themselves and their spouses which helps pay for a portion of the cost of our community.

This benefit is paid by Veterans Affairs (VA) to veterans, veteran spouses or surviving spouses based on several areas of eligibility including financial means, time served in active duty, physical needs and more. Contact your Community Relations Directors for more information to determine eligibility.

VA Aid and Attendance Benefit can pay over $2,000 per month for an eligible couple.

We’re happy to help you find more information and find out if this applies to you.

Long Term Care Insurance

Most long-term care insurance policies cover portions of assisted living and part of the premiums may be tax deductible. Contact your policy representative with questions about your coverage.

Tax Deductions for Medical Portion of Care

Seniors living in our Georgia communities can deduct medical expenses from their tax returns. Seniors can often deduct portions of their care and alleviate their expenses.  Please consult your tax preparer or accountant for the deductibility of portions of the monthly service fees. The basic rules concerning the tax deductibility of Assisted Living and Alzheimer’s care expenses in order to qualify for the tax deduction include:

The 1996 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), “long-term care services” may be tax deductible as an unreimbursed medical expense on Schedule A. This includes personal care services such as assistance with activities of daily living as well as maintenance services such as meal preparation and household cleaning.

Seniors must be unable to perform two or more activities of daily living or have severe cognitive impairment.

Services must be provided according to a plan of care prescribed by a licensed health care practitioner.

⦁ The taxpayer must be entitled to itemize their deductions and long-term care services and other unreimbursed medical expenses must exceed 7.5% of the taxpayer’s adjusted gross income.

For more information, please contact your tax advisor.

CARE ALTERNATIVES

Senior Living

Senior Living is a service-rich environment full of activities. Insignia communities offer a broad range of intellectual, physical and social activities, such as delicious and nutritious meals, recreational activities, to enhance enjoyment during the golden years.

We deliver it all without the hassles of home maintenance and yard work while providing a responsive level of on-call assistance. In Insignia’s Senior living communities, you will find spacious apartments, stylish common areas and numerous amenities to meet your comfort expectations. Your active senior living lifestyle will be as busy and fulfilling as you desire, to make you feel loved and valued.

Forget the cold, institutionalized feel of other locations – we make every personal care experience one of warmth and independence. We offer every resident the attention they need with respect to their individuality and privacy, a long-term commitment that fosters wellbeing and stability.
Our associates can assist with everyday activities and mobility, giving each resident the care and dignity they deserve. We are capable in managing daily medication and getting residents to and from medical appointments, taking the worry out of transportation needs.

CARE ALTERNATIVES

Assisted Living Care

Our professionals assess every resident to develop a specific plan of care and services with input from the resident and family.

The plan includes any assistance required with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, continence care, eating, medication, ambulation and grooming.

Insignia strives to maximize resident independence.

Care and service plans are updated regularly as needed.

Assisted Living is the ideal solution for seniors who value their independence, yet need some help with daily activities, such as dressing, bathing, and medication reminders. We focus on individual wellness and encourage continued independence with a personalized plan of assistance provided by well-trained team members available around the clock, seven days a week.

By customizing personal care offerings for the individual, we help to ease assisted living residents through important lifestyle transitions that complement their abilities, while valuing their independence.

Residents living in our Assisted Living facilities can remain in place longer than in a traditional Personal Care Home.

CARE ALTERNATIVES

Memory Care

Memory Care at Insignia specializes in caring for residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Our care associates adapt their behavior to our residents needs. We create neighborhood environments where no one is left behind.

Your loved one’s safety and joyfulness is of utmost importance to us. Once you start feeling like your loved one has more specialized needs that aren’t being met, it’s a good time to investigate whether our Seasons Memory Care Program is right for you.

Seasons Memory Care Program

Seasons Memory Care is a comprehensive program to care for residents with Alzheimer’s and related memory care disorders. Our program focuses on what the resident can do in their “season” of the disease process, and encourages Caregivers through a developed training process to go “with the Resident” to their most appropriate level of cognition and functioning.

By focusing on the individual particular levels of need, it enables the highest level of social interaction to occur on a continuous and changing basis. Developed in cooperation with our partner, Caravita Healthcare, Associates are trained through progressive education to more precisely meet the needs of this population focusing on a social rather than clinical mindset, with every interaction being considered an activity.

CARE ALTERNATIVES

Short-Term Stays

It’s true that from time to time, we could all use a little temporary help, whether it’s for a day, a weekend or a month. Insignia Senior Living is distinguished as a premier option for families or caregivers looking for attentive respite care services that give them the opportunity for time away or even just a break. Temporary stays offer seniors the hospitality and convenience of a hotel or resort without the high expense or stress of extended travel.

Consider Insignia’s temporary care an alternative to staying at home while recovering from an illness, injury or medical procedure. We provide the comfortable transition needed to restore the peace of mind and body that is so important. At the same time, we give families and caregivers the chance for trips out of town or for preparing the home for their return. We find that our respite care service has something for everyone and always makes for a memorable stay.

CARE ALTERNATIVES

Senior Day Program

We believe that you should never “knock it ‘till you try it”. That’s why we offer day care for those seniors who aren’t quite sure if they are ready to move into a Senior Living Community. Seniors can enjoy all the activities, meals and amenities of our common areas during the day, and head back home at the end of the evening.

Oftentimes, our seniors enjoy day care so much that they decide to make our communities home.
